Why participate in the C25K Virtual Race Weekend?
This is the perfect opportunity for you to get your feet wet with racing without the added pressure of a huge crowd or an unfamiliar route. If you've raced before, this can be your chance for a new PR or to practice for your next race. Don't feel like you have to be able to run the whole thing; it is ok to take walking breaks or just walk the whole thing. Just get out there and try!
How does it work?
You simply choose the best time and place for you, measure out the distance, and run! Try to venture outside if possible, but treadmill and track runs are also acceptable. Keep track of your time and then post a new entry in this community with your time, race report, and pictures if you have them on Monday, July 14th (preferably by midnight ET, but I rather have all reports and wait a little longer so just let me know if you will be late posting it). We'll post the official results later in the week as soon as we get all the reports in. If you post your race report in your own blog, post at least a summary here (distance and time) with a link to your full race report.
Who should participate?
Everyone!! To accommodate those still in the program as well as the graduates, we have 2 distances and 3 divisions. You can run either a 5K or a 2 Mile race (or both!) and we'll recognize the top 3 runners in the following divisions: current c25k runners, c25k graduates, walkers.
I'm in! Now What?
First, make sure you register so we know what division and distance you are running in (you can run both distances if you want, but must register separately for each).
Second, tell us a little about you and your running, and help us promote the race. Post an entry in your own journal telling us about your running (how did you start, why do you do it, etc) and what your goals are for the Virtual Race Weekend (you can use this questionnaire from the Wee Little Virtual 5K as a guide or just write a paragraph or two). Post a link to your post in the comments so we can check it out.
PS - I'll try to make some banners later, but I wanted to get this posted already. If anyone else wants to make some and post them, feel free!W

I ran the 5K distance. This was my first time running over 2.8 miles. I stupidly and accidentally hit a button on my stopwatch just past 28 minutes but didn't realize it till the next time I looked. But based on where I was at the 28 minute mark I was running at about a 10:30/mile pace, so I should have finished at about 33 minutes. I'm unbelievably angry that I don't know the exact number, but there it is. :/
